If you are using the credit card, then it should have been issued by a US bank. International cards from non-US countries will not work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Till Oct 28, 2025 &#8211; You can send the personal check for H4 EAD payment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>H4 EAD fees check for <strong>$520<\/strong> payable to\u00a0the &#8216;<strong>U.S. Department of Homeland Security<\/strong>&#8216;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Short forms like USCIS are not allowed on personal, cashier, or money orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personal checks from your checking or savings account in Bank of America, Chase, etc. are allowed. Calculate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/feecalculator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">current USCIS H4 EAD fee<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biometrics is only required for H4 extension and not H4 EAD. This will increase your H4 EAD processing time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#3 How to file H4 EAD using Form I-765<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Download and fill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/document\/forms\/i-765.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USCIS i765 form<\/a>. If an H4 extension has been approved recently, use the extension approval. OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most recent H4 i-94 copy. For example, an Indian (or Chinese) birth certificate will work only if it has a photograph. OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other national identity document with a photo. US State ID or Driving License is <strong>NOT<\/strong> acceptable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#6 H4&#8217;s Relationship with H-1B<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A copy of your <strong>marriage certificate<\/strong> in English is required to prove the H4 dependent&#8217;s relationship to primary H1B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#7 H4 EAD Eligibility Proof<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Primary H1B spouse&#8217;s&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.truvisa.com\/t\/received-i797c-instead-of-i797-for-i140-can-i-apply-h4-ead\/687\/2?u=anil_gupta\" target=\"_blank\">I-140 i797c approval notice<\/a><\/strong> is required to prove H4 EAD eligibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your employer has not shared the I-140 approval copy with you, use the <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/am22tech.com\/uscis-foia-request-for-i-140-information\/\">USCIS FOIA request to get I-140 details<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#8 Current H4-EAD copy for Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An existing EAD copy is required only if you already have H4 EAD and you are applying for renewal or extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only a <a rel=\"nofollow noindex sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Amazon Black Ink Pen\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2rHxg7a\" data-linkid=\"170897\" data-nojs=\"1\" data-shortcode=\"true\">black color ink pen<\/a> is allowed as USCIS uses computer scanning to read forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do NOT staple the documents. Use a <a rel=\"nofollow noindex sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Amazon Paper Clips\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/368AC1R\" data-linkid=\"170898\" data-nojs=\"1\" data-shortcode=\"true\">paper clip<\/a> to bind them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>#9 Form G1145 (Optional but recommended)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use <a label=\"form G1145 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/document\/forms\/g-1145.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">form G1145<\/a> to let USCIS send you an SMS or an email once they receive your application. Our recommendation is to write &#8220;<strong>Filed concurrently<\/strong>&#8221; in Q29 or <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.am22tech.com\/us\/uscis\/form\/i765\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">use our app<\/a> and it will handle all text automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry about the limited space to write it. You can just write with free handwriting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h3\" id=\"documents-ead-renewal\">H4-EAD Renewal Documents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The document list is the same for H4-EAD renewal or extension as for the new H4-EAD application mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The start date for the H4 EAD extension may be in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Example,<br \/>If your H4 expires in Sep, and you applied for renewal in Mar, of the same year, your extended H4&#8217;s start date may be Sep instead of March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is on USCIS to give a current start date or future one (that correlates with your current H4&#8217;s expiry date).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To fill up the i-765 form, we would consider the most recent H4 approval irrespective of its start date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on it, your i94 number and primary H1B i797 approval receipt number will be decided while filing the i765.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ssn-after-ead\">Apply SSN with EAD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not currently have SSN, select &#8216;No&#8217; on Q 13.a. and then select &#8216;Yes&#8217; on Q 14 and Q 15.<br \/>You will have to fill Q 16.a., 16.b. with your (H4&#8217;s) father and mother&#8217;s name to get an SSN card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your SSN card will be automatically generated after your EAD is approved within 3-4 weeks and mailed by USPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faq\">FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1575922933954\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">What is H4 EAD Processing Time?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">The current H4 EAD processing time is 2 to 7 months.
