As per immigrants&#8217; popular opinion, immigration bills are always deadlocked in US Congress between Democrats and Republicans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They have not seen any meaningful reform for the last 30+ years. This means that anyone who qualifies will be able to get a green card without any yearly GC quota limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per this bill, one can get the US green card if they have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>STEM Degree from US-based University<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Physically present in the US to complete this education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advance Degree (Masters or Higher level).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Job offer from a US employer<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Job is directly related to STEM degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The pay rate is higher than the median wage level in the local area of work location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have the approved labor certification (generally known as <a href=\"https:\/\/am22tech.com\/uscis\/perm-processing-time\/\">PERM<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>STEM Degree is in one of the fields of study<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Computer and information sciences and support services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mathematics and statistics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biological and biomedical sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>physical sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>agriculture sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Natural Resources and Conservation Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not clear if the bill will also remove the most problematic and discriminatory &#8216;Country of birth&#8217; based green card numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1689861425044\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">What are the chances of this Act becoming a law?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">As per the past trend and the way this act has been written, the chances of passing both the House and Senate to become law are extremely low.<br \/><br \/>The same Act was introduced in 2022 as well but nothing happened.
