For example, an Indian (or Chinese) birth certificate will work only if it has a photograph on it. OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other national identity document with a photo. US State ID or Driving License is <strong>NOT<\/strong> acceptable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#5 Relationship with Primary Applicant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your i485 was filed based on your spouse&#8217;s employment, then including a copy of your <strong>marriage certificate<\/strong> in English is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you filed i485 in the family green card queue, then we suggest adding a passport page where it shows the parent&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#6 EAD Eligibility Proof<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For employment-based i485<\/strong>, a primary H1B spouse&#8217;s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.truvisa.com\/t\/received-i797c-instead-of-i797-for-i140-can-i-apply-h4-ead\/687\/2?u=anil_gupta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">I-140 i797c approval notice<\/a><\/strong> is required to prove EAD eligibility. If the employer has not shared the I-140 approval copy with you, use the <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/am22tech.com\/uscis-foia-request-for-i-140-information\/\">USCIS FOIA request to get I-140 details<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For family-based i485<\/strong>, include a copy of the I-130 approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#7 Current EAD copy for Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An existing EAD copy is required only if you already have an EAD and you are applying for renewal or extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>#9 Form G1145 (Optional but recommended)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use <a label=\"form G1145 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/document\/forms\/g-1145.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">form G1145<\/a> to let USCIS send you an SMS or an email once they receive your application. Attach this form at top of the EAD application package.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Only a <a rel=\"nofollow noindex sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Amazon Black Ink Pen\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2rHxg7a\" data-linkid=\"170897\" data-nojs=\"1\" data-shortcode=\"true\">black color ink pen<\/a> is allowed as USCIS uses computer scanning to read forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do NOT staple the documents. Use a <a rel=\"nofollow noindex sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Amazon Paper Clips\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/368AC1R\" data-linkid=\"170898\" data-nojs=\"1\" data-shortcode=\"true\">paper clip<\/a> to bind them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ead-fees\">EAD Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>USCIS added an EAD application fee starting 1 Apr 2024 for people who will be filing new i485. Anyone who filed i485 before 1 Apr, 2024 will still be eligible for free filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you filed your i485 on or after <strong>1 Apr 2024<\/strong>, then, your i485 EAD application fee is $260.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you filed i485 before <strong>1 Apr 2024<\/strong>, then there is no fee for i485 EAD renewal. It is FREE.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"biometric-fingerprints\">Biometric &#8211; Fingerprints<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every adult will receive a biometric appointment notice for their EAD application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We suggest filing both i485 EAD and <a href=\"https:\/\/am22tech.com\/uscis-i131\/\">Advance parole<\/a> at the same time unless the validity of each of them is separate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you filed both EAD and AP together, you will get one <a href=\"https:\/\/am22tech.com\/h4-biometric-appointment-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">biometric appointment<\/a> for both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ssn-after-ead\">Apply SSN with EAD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not currently have SSN, select &#8216;No&#8217; on Q 13.a. and then select &#8216;Yes&#8217; on Q 14 and Q 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will have to fill Q 16.a., 16.b. with your (H4&#8217;s) father and mother&#8217;s name to get an SSN card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your SSN card will be automatically generated after your EAD is approved within 3-4 weeks and mailed by USPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faq\">FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1575922933954\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">What is i485 EAD Processing Time?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">The current EAD processing time is 7 to 12 months.
